Solutions for Teaching, Testing and Engineering
Embedarium and FastOMR are each built for a specific job. Every section below describes what the product does today, so you can judge the fit before talking to us.
Virtual Microcontroller & Circuit Labs in the Browser
The challenge: Lab hours are limited, components get damaged, and cross-compiler installations behave differently on every student's computer.
What Embedarium offers: Students design circuits and run SPICE analyses (operating point, DC sweep, transient and AC, computed on the server), write C or assembly, and debug it on simulated microcontrollers with instruction-level emulation and cycle counting, an oscilloscope and a logic analyzer. Everything runs in a web browser with nothing to install: 8051-family code compiles in the browser, AVR, Arm and PIC code on the server.
Courses add automatically graded assignments and plagiarism checks. LTI 1.3 support has so far been verified against a simulated platform, not a production LMS.
Paper Exams Read from Ordinary Scans
The challenge: Dedicated optical readers and pre-printed answer forms are expensive, and they tie a school to a single supplier.
What FastOMR offers: Teachers design their own answer sheets and print them as vector PDF on plain paper, each sheet with its own QR code. Sheets scanned on an office scanner or photographed with a phone are read on FastOMR's servers; blank, double or unclear marks go to a person for review instead of being scored automatically.
Results come with item difficulty and discrimination, KR-20 reliability with the standard error of measurement, class breakdowns, report cards and CSV or XLSX export.
Paper Surveys and Course Evaluations
The challenge: Paper questionnaires are easy to hand out but slow to type up, and manual data entry introduces errors.
What FastOMR offers: Survey fields sit on the same forms as exam questions: agreement, satisfaction and frequency scales with your own labels, 0–10 ratings, yes/no and true/false. They are read with the rest of the sheet, shown and exported, and kept out of scoring.
FastOMR reads the forms it designs and prints; it does not read forms printed by other systems, and it does not read handwriting.
