Engineered for Precision & Speed
SDD Labs was founded on a simple premise: complex physical measurements, paper bubble tests, and embedded hardware circuits should run at microsecond speeds in accessible, universal software.
See, Detect, Decide
The name SDD Labs originates from our foundational engineering loop: See, Detect, Decide. We believe every transformative software breakthrough begins with high-fidelity sensory perception, rigorous algorithmic extraction, and decisive, automated action.
In hardware simulation and embedded engineering, this motto birthed our flagship platform Embedarium—allowing anyone with a web browser to run cycle-accurate microcontroller simulations and SPICE circuits without physical lab barriers. In the optical assessment realm, it enabled us to engineer FastOMR—replacing decades of proprietary, monopolistic scanner machines with pure computer vision and psychometrics.
Key Milestones
Initiated core research into projective homography deskew and in-browser WebAssembly CPU emulation.
Released universal optical mark recognition platform; reached over 150 million sheets processed globally.
Engineered cycle-accurate emulation for 7+ microcontroller architectures with LTI 1.3 LMS integration.
Our Core Engineering Principles
We adhere to unyielding software engineering standards that guide every algorithm and user interface we build.
1. Deterministic Accuracy
In optical testing and circuit simulation, "mostly correct" is a failure. Every mark recognition calculation, affine matrix, and CPU clock tick is mathematically bounded and regression-tested against ground truth suites.
2. Client-Local & Privacy First
Whenever possible, we execute computations directly inside the user's web browser using WebAssembly. Your answer sheets, biometric surveys, and proprietary schematics never leave your device unless explicitly requested.
3. Universal Hardware Freedom
We despise artificial hardware lock-ins. Our software runs on regular office copiers, inexpensive smartphones, and commodity web browsers without requiring five-figure proprietary scanning hardware.
